Time – 9.30am – 1pm.
Our one day course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to deliver electric drills used on nail extensions. Electric files can add to the overall professionalism of your service, and help reduce the strain on hands with natural buffing. The course is suitable for both the inexperienced electric file user and for the experienced nail technician who wishes to improve existing electric filing techniques.
What will the course cover?
- Salon safety & hygiene
- How to complete a client consultation
- How to prepare yourself and work station
- How the electric file works
- Practical application of nail drills
- Safe filing technique
- Electric file maintenance
What is required before I start this course?
You must have completed a manicure and nail extensions course prior to attending as this will gain the level of understanding you need prior to using the electric files. You will need to be practising ‘currently’ in regular nail extensions for at least 6 months.
What is the difference between short diploma courses and VTCT courses?
Short diploma courses are for therapists wanting to work mobile or on friends and family. They are recognised within the UK and an insurable qualification with certain insurance companies.
VTCT courses are internationally recognised qualifications that involve multiple choice end tests and assessments but hold a higher recognised status and will enable you to work in a nail bar.
How is the award achieved?
You will come to the academy for one day and learn electric drills. You will leave feeling confident by the end of the day with the knowledge you have gained.
Do I need a model?
Yes, you will need to bring a model with natural nails so you can apply a full set on acrylic or gel nail extensions.
You will need to bring your own artificial nail kit and drill for the course.
Is a kit included in the price?
Kits are not included for this course but please take a look at our kit page for our recommended supplier.
When will I receive my certificate?
Your course will be awarded to you at the end of the day based on your competence, knowledge and understanding how to use electric drills.
