Pregnancy Massage Course

Time – 9.30 – 3pm.

Our training course in Pregnancy Massage, can help to alleviate many of the symptoms and conditions associated with pregnancy and will give benefit to both the mother and baby.

Within our pregnancy massage course you will be working in particular on the abdomen as well as the rest of the body – Arms/hands, legs/feet, whole back/shoulder, abdomen and face and scalp. The Massage helps to prepare the body for the changes that occur during pregnancy and will help to promote a healthy, relaxing pregnancy, as well as labour and recovery period.

What is a Short Diploma?

This course is accredited by The Beauty Guild. The Short Diploma qualification is recognised and insurable for working on friends and family or mobile.

What will the course cover?

  • Salon Safety & Hygiene
  • How to complete a client consultation
  • Contra Indications
  • How to prepare your work station
  • Practical of pregnancy massage.

What is required before I start this course?

A body massage course that you have studied for at least 3 days is also required to complete prior to attending which you can also do through us. This will give you the knowledge you need, of the massage movements and techniques you will put in to practise with pregnancy massage.  (Unfortunately a body massage for 1 day is not sufficient knowledge to learn to be treating the body in safe working practise).

What is the difference between short diploma courses and VTCT courses?

Short diploma courses are for therapists wanting to work mobile or on friends and family.  They are recognised within the UK and an insurable qualification with certain insurance companies.

VTCT courses are internationally recognised qualifications that involve multiple choice end tests and assessments but hold a higher recognised status and will enable you to work in a beauty salon.

How is the award achieved?

You will come to the academy to learn the practical part of pregnancy massage.

Do I need a model?

Yes, you will need to bring a model with you to practise on and your kit so we can set it up for you and you can use.  It is beneficial to find a pregnant model but if you can’t we can improvise.

Is a kit included in the price?

Kits are not included but you can use your base carrier oil you use in massage but no aromatherapy blended oils.

When will I receive my certificate?

Once you have completed the course and sent in your case studies, we will post you your certificate.
